10th March         Fluffy Duck Rally   Australian Historic Rally Group
Fluffy Duck Historic Rally 2018
The Australian Historic Rally Group’s rally season started on the 10th of March with the running of the Fluffy Duck Historic Rally starting from the MCG, otherwise known as Mulbring cricket Ground. Eighteen competitors entered this long running event driving a cross section of historic cars plus a few modern cars.
From Mulbring competitors headed to Laguna for lunch but not before traveling over a number of roads that I have never driven along before which made for an interesting drive.
From lunch the route took competitors south along Murray’s Runand on to the finish at the Park with no name (Woodberry Park, but there is no sign to say so).
Yellow Duck Motorsport did not compete this year, but were represented by Jim Pope/Quack McMallard filming the event for the Duck Report . Check out Quack McMallards event report on you tube. (See link below)

3rd June Des West Winter Classic Rally  Australian Historic Rally Group
Des West Rally 2018

With rain over night, things did not look good for the Des West Memorial Rally 2018 but the weather gods were on the Australian Historic Rally Groups side and the day dawned cool but with blue skies (for the most part).
Twenty competitors lined up at the start in the Hunter Valley town of Stroud, for a day’s rallying. From the start, competitors headed north doing a loop around Stroud and then south down the Buckets Way toward lunch at Clarence Town.
The main street of Clarence Town was invaded by rally cars as competitors enjoyed a lunch at the local café, which did a great trade as the Holden Torana club arrived in mass, who were enjoying the fine weather for a drive around the Hunter Valley.
From lunch, the route took competitors via Dungog (all road lead to Dungog) to the finish at Vacy. Due to a problem with the route instructions competitors had an interesting afternoon and for some a late arrival at the finish.
The next AHRG event is the ever-popular Heart of the Hunter in August.
Yellow Duck Motorsport did not compete in the Des West but were represented by Jim Pope officiating.
